ANEW
A Performative Installation by
Georgia Tegou & Michalis Theophanous
BIENNALE ARCHITETTURA 2021
Part of ‘Anachoresis: Upon Inhabiting Distances’
Hosted by the Cyprus Pavilion
ANEW is a choreographic response to the current abruptness of withdrawal from public space and suggests new ways of being. Conceived and devised by the new realities currently experienced due to the COVID19 pandemic, it is a score for the cohabitation of a future fantasised community, living together again in a sterile world. An embodied commentary adapting to the site-specific architectural structures in the pavilion, it explores what comes first between movement and architecture through a series of performing images and invites the viewer to navigate the space following this exchange.
